The stars have aligned for GOT7.

The globally renowned South Korean supergroup orbits into the spotlight anew with the release of its newest mini-album, “Winter Heptagon,” on Monday, Jan. 20.

The nine-track mini album marks the septet’s long-awaited revival as a full unit since its self-titled extended play (EP) in 2022.

The music video to “Python,” the lead track, dropped alongside the album.

The production derives inspiration from the Winter Hexagon, a notable celestial formation made up of six bright stars — Sirius, Procyon, Pollux, Castor, Capella and Aldebaran — with the possible inclusion of the red supergiant Betelguese to form the heptagon, in homage to the group’s seven-member lineup.

JAY B, the leader of the seven-piece powerhouse, confirmed their return during his solo concert in Seoul in December 2024, with official teasers unveiled days after.

Before the announcement, some GOT7 members casually dropped hints on their comeback. Jinyoung, after being discharged from the military, teased that they were gearing up for an album before Youngjae and Yugyeom enlisted.

GOT7 also regained control of its original social media accounts days leading up to its much-awaited return.

GOT7 teamed up with Kakao Entertainment for the planning and production of the album, which coincided with the celebration of its 11th year in the music industry.

This will also be the group’s second collective effort since its departure from its former label, JYP Entertainment, in 2021.

The group, composed of JAY B, Mark Tuan, Jackson Wang, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom, will also hold a two-day concert, “NESTFEST,” on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2.
