Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson make their Jurassic franchise debut in the action-packed trailer for “Jurassic World Rebirth,” where they clash against terrifying dinosaurs.

Released on Wednesday, Feb. 5, the trailer introduces the two stars alongside Mahershala Ali as fresh additions to the saga, bringing a new dynamic to the prehistoric adventure.

Set five years after the events of “Jurassic World Dominion,” the latest installment teases high-stakes survival as the lead stars are stranded on an island overrun by dinosaurs.

The trailer sees Zora Bennett (Johansson), the captain of her ship, Duncan Kincaid (Ali), and Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey), a paleontologist, try to make it out alive as they fetch the DNA of the three largest dinosaurs of land, sea, and air that a pharmaceutical company asks them to do.

The trio then crosses paths with a family whose nearby boat has capsized from an aquatic dinosaur attack, making them all stranded on the forbidden island, dodging dinosaurs everywhere.

“These dinosaurs were too dangerous for the original park. The worst of the worst were left here. We put ourselves in a place we don’t belong. Survival is a long shot,” explained Bailey’s Henry.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” is directed by BAFTA winner Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) with a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, based on characters created by Michael Crichton.

The film is produced by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both longtime Jurassic franchise producers and of last summer’s blockbuster, “Twisters.” The film is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer.

Three years ago, the Jurassic World trilogy concluded with each film surpassing $1 billion at the global box office.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” is the standalone sequel to “Jurassic World Dominion” (2022). It is the fourth Jurassic World film and the seventh installment overall in the Jurassic Park film series.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” opens in Philippine cinemas on July 2.
