Joshua Dionisio cast in ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’

Joshua Dionisio will again be captivating viewers with his role as Gimeno in “Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan,” a year after his brief appearance in the Kapuso action drama “Black Rider.”

Dionisio’s casting was announced on his Instagram page on Sunday, January 9, which showed the actor holding a gun while donning a black t-shirt, cap, and a matching scarf. Details on Gimeno have yet to be revealed, although he wore a serious expression on his face.

Dionisio is best known as a child actor where he appeared in “Super Inggo,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “Vietnam Rose,” “Palos,” and “Kung Fu Kids.” He eventually transitioned to teen roles where he was one of the leads in “Pilyang Kerubin,” “Nita Negrita,” and “Reel Love Presents Tween Hearts.”

After appearing in “Wattpad Presents: Special Section” in 2017, he took a break from acting and made brief appearances in 2022’s “Good Morning Kuya” and “Black Rider.”

The actor is also known for his onscreen partnership with Barbie Forteza, often referred to as JoshBie.

“Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan” is the second season of the action drama that tells the story of Lolong Candelaria and his unique ability to communicate with a gigantic crocodile named Dakila. Together, they embark on life-threatening challenges in hopes of saving the world. Season two stars Ruru Madrid, Shaira Diaz, Jean Garcia, John Arcilla, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Martin del Rosario.
