Talent manager and showbiz vlogger Ogie Diaz has thrown his support behind senatorial aspirants Bam Aquino, Kiko Pangilinan, and former Commission on Audit (COA) commissioner Heidi Mendoza ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.

Diaz made his endorsement on the latest episode of his YouTube vlog “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update,” emphasizing that these are the senatorial hopefuls that he believes are “competent” enough.

“Heto, hindi ako magbabanggit ng twelve. Basta ‘yung ilan sa kanila, ‘yung iba kasi understood na. Si Bam Aquino, si Kiko Pangilinan, si Heidi Mendoza ang dating COA commissioner. Iyan, matitino ‘yan. Ako na nagsasabi sa inyo, matitino ‘yang tatlo na ‘yan,” he said.

(Here, I will not mention twelve. Because some of them are already understood. Bam Aquino, Kiko Pangilinan, Heidi Mendoza, the former COA commissioner. These people are competent. I’m telling you, these three are decent.)

Diaz’s co-hosts, Mama Loi Villarama and Tita Jegs, echoed his sentiments and expressed their support for the three candidates as well.

Villarama added that he is also supporting Luke Espiritu. “Ah si Luke Espiritu, palaban rin ‘yan (Luke Espiritu, he’s also a fighter),” said Diaz.

In 2022, Diaz and Villarama served as volunteers for the presidential and vice presidential bids of former vice president Leni Robredo and Pangilinan, respectively. They hosted some of the rallies for the tandem.

Aquino has received several endorsements from celebrities including Anne Curtis, Dingdong Dantes, Edu Manzano, Janno Gibbs, Jolina Magdangal, Marjorie Barretto, Bea Binene, Rita Avila, and Pia Magalona, among others.

Meanwhile, actress Nadine Lustre previously made headlines after endorsing the bid of the Mamamayang Liberal (ML) party-list led by former Senator Leila de Lima.

In her endorsement video, Lustre emphasized how “fed up” she is with the people who abuse their power in the government.

For the 2025 election, several showbiz and media personalities have thrown their hats into the Senate race: TV host Willie Revillame, action star Phillip Salvador, brothers Erwin and Ben Tulfo (broadcast), as well as reelectionist Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Lito Lapid, and Manny Pacquiao.
