MANILA, Philippines — Five foreigners were arrested in separate operations and will be deported as undesirable aliens, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Thursday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Joel Anthony Viado said the arrested foreign nationals include an American, a Chinese, a Taiwanese and two South Koreans.

They are Paul Raymond Ross (66), Chi Sun-cho (64), Ye Chun-ho (32), Jung Yun-jae (26) and Jeon Hyun-wook (41.

Viado said Ross, who was wanted in Pennsylvania for charges of extortion and harassment, was arrested on December 2 in Kabankalan City, Negros Oriental.

Meanwhile, South Koreans Yunjae and Hyeonuk were arrested on December 3 in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu Province. Viado revealed that both were wanted for kidnapping.

He added: “The two men currently hold arrest warrants issued by the Ulsan District Court in South Korea, where they are accused of luring victims to Cambodia to work as models for obscene advertisements.

On December 6, Ji was arrested by the police for “fraudulently obtaining tax refunds.” Viado revealed that the Shishi City Public Security Bureau in China is looking for him.

Finally, on December 8, Ye was arrested in Pasay City following an arrest warrant issued by the Taichung District Attorney in Taiwan and faces fraud charges.

The immigration chief added: “We will not relent in our efforts to capture and deport these fugitives, as they pose a grave threat to public safety while here.
