YouTubers and other digital content creators are selling their unused footage to artificial intelligence (AI) companies.
Bloomberg News reported that these online creators earn thousands of dollars per deal, depending on video quality.
On the other hand, AI companies use these clips to train and improve their AI algorithms for future products and services.

ChatGPT and similar tools rely on data to function. Manmade data is the best, but tech firms have exhausted the Internet quickly due to rapid innovation.
Consequently, “non-AI-made, unique” data become more valuable, so companies are more willing to pay huge sums for them.
The Bloomberg News report said:
“OpenAI, Alphabet Inc’s Google, AI media company Moonvalley, and several other AI companies are collectively paying hundreds of content creators for access to their unpublished videos.”
“That content, which hasn’t been posted elsewhere online, is considered valuable for training artificial intelligence systems since it’s unique.”
Nowadays, AI companies pay between $1 to $4 per minute of footage. Also, the price may increase depending on video quality or format.
For example, unused footage from YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok is usually worth $1 to $2 per minute.
Moreover, 4K resolution clips and non-traditional footage, such as drone-captured videos or 3D animations, fetch higher prices.
You may sell your unused footage and images to companies like Shutterstock, Wirestock, and Adobe Stock.
