Rufa Mae Quinto stressed that she does not regret marrying Trevor Magallanes despite their current dispute, saying “he’s still the best” amid imperfections in their relationship.

Quinto opened up about this during an interview with her friend and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz, as seen on the latter’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

“Tatanggapin ko kung ayaw na [niya], rerespetuhin ko ‘yon. Pero ‘yung next action, syempre ‘yung anak namin,” she said, referring to their daughter Athena. “Pangalawa, baka naman — malay mo, ‘di ba, baka maayos.”

“Sa edad kong ito, ayoko na rin maghahanap-hanap pa ng bago o iba nanaman. If ever, siya na ‘yung huli for me,” she added. “Pero kung ayaw na niya, kailangan kong tanggapin.”

Quinto disclosed that she still has communication with Magallanes, although they only talk about Athena and not matters concerning their marriage.

The comedian, who earlier disclosed that Magallanes has yet to file for divorce, also admitted that she is still uncertain what she would feel if he finally decides to legally end their marriage.

Diaz then asked Quinto if she would have chosen not to be in a relationship with Magallanes if she had the power to turn back time.

“Hindi, wala akong pinagsisisihan. He’s still the best,” the actress answered. “May mga bagay lang talaga na hindi perfect. Pero masaya ako dahil nand’yan pa naman siya [at] mabait siya sa anak namin.”

Quinto further noted that she does not know the exact reason behind their falling-out, although she admitted that her frequent unavailability due to her work might be one of the factors.

Quinto and Magallanes tied the knot in 2016 in the Philippines. The pair welcomed their daughter in 2017, and the family of three has been based in the United States.
