The Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) announced that this year’s edition, which was earlier postponed due to wildfires in California in the United States, is now rescheduled to March.

The MIFF announced the new dates March 4 to 7, through its Instagram page on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

“Coming to you live March 4th [to] 7th, 2025,” it said. “Don’t miss the best in Philippine Cinema at the Manila International Film Fest at the TCL Theaters.”

The MIFF, which is an entity independent of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), held its inaugural edition in January 2024, during which it screened the 2023 MMFF entries in Hollywood.

This year’s edition will feature the 10 2024 MMFF entries — “The Kingdom,” “And the Breadwinner Is…,” “Green Bones,” “Isang Himala,” “Hold Me Close,” “My Future You,” “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,” “Espantaho,” “Topakk” and “Uninvited” — along with the 2024 blockbuster hit “Hello, Love, Again” and other Filipino classics.

The film fest will close with an awards gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The 2025 MIFF was supposed to take place on Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, but was postponed due to the impact of the California wildfires on many people including the Filipino community.
