“Brilliant Taiwan” will be staged in the Philippines on Feb. 15, promising a musical feast featuring Taiwanese performers from diverse music genres.

The music event, which is set to be held at the Medicine Auditorium of University of Santo Tomas in Manila, has a diverse lineup of artists from “The Hu Music,” including DJ David, Sangpuy Katatepan Mavaliyw, Ayugo Huang, Siaoai Xie, and Chairman Band.

The artists are set to present a series of performances that integrate Haka, Taiwanese, Mandarin and indigenous languages, with an aim to showcase the rich cultural diversity of Taiwan as well as the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year.

“[The event] is designed to foster international friendship, deepen the cultural bonds between overseas compatriots and Taiwan, and evoke the beauty and warmth of their homeland in the minds of overseas compatriots,” said Hsu Chia-ching, the minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC).

“We hope that the melodies from Taiwan will stir nostalgic memories of home, and through this musical journey, the world will see Taiwan’s dynamic cultural vitality in all its glory,” she added.

Also part of the event is Miss International Taiwan 2019 Joyce Chiu, who will serve as the host of the program.

Aside from the Philippines, “Brilliant Taiwan” will also be staged in Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Cambodia and Vietnam.
