The 2025 Grammy Awards wouldn’t be complete without the artists posing on the red carpet in their most glamorous or most outrageous best.
Dubbed the “biggest night in music,” it was also without a doubt the recording academy’s most fashionable, as the biggest names, rising stars, songwriters, and industry workers strut on the red carpet of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
While most celebrities wore vibrant hues and eye-catching accessories, other artists picked out classic tones. There are, however, a few who looked into their closet and came up with interesting pieces (read: ugly), or, in the case of Bianca Censori, came out with nothing on at all.
As we cap off another Grammys season, let us look back at 10 of the most standout red carpet looks in the hottest and trashiest ways possible.

Chappell Roan

Kicking off the colorful night was Best New Artist winner Chappell Roan in a vintage Jean-Paul Gaultier gown in multiple shades of yellow, brown, and light blue. Straight from his Spring 2003 couture collection, it seamlessly blends with the singer-songwriter’s campy and out-of-the-box style without looking like a costume. It was the perfect way to introduce Roan as the Grammys’ Best New Artist, an unapologetic superstar who can boldly make her own fashion statement.
Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter is the “It girl” for cutie, sexy fashion, and her JW Anderson gown makes a perfect case. The sky blue color, halter neckline, and furry accents were over-the-top feminine which mimics a pin-up doll of the 1950s, while the peek-a-boo backside was teasingly sexy — summing up Carpenter’s brand perfectly. Think the Marilyn Monroe of music, and you got her.
Olivia Rodrigo

Quick — in the tune of Olivia Rodrigo’s “And he says I’m so American” but trade it into “And he says she’s such a woman.” Olivia Rodrigo traded her teen rockstar-esque fashion for a form-fitting cut-out Versace gown that looked like it would fit right in her “vampire” music video. It is sexy and classy, while reintroducing Rodrigo as a full woman in her most confident best.
Cardi B

It would never be a Cardi B show on the red carpet if she wouldn’t show off some skin in one way or another. But she stole the show in her dramatic Fausto Puglisi gown decked out in sequins, beads, and feathers extending up to a floor-length hem. Cardi’s past red carpet moments have been formulaic in recent years, but injecting a bit of Cardi-fied drama was a welcome change.
Doechii

Doechii put business-inspired ensembles in style on the red carpet with her Thom Browne suit and David Yurman jewelry. The crisp white polo with minimal stripes on the sleeves combined with a formfitting, off-shoulder pinstripe was a stroke of genius — as others would usually wear these pieces apart — which was effortlessly carried by the rapper-singer. Even her cowlick seemed in place with her look.

Jaden Smith

While it’s unknown if Jaden Smith was intentionally paying homage to Willem Dafoe’s QG Italia cover shoot in 2023, accessorizing his all-black Louis Vuitton suit with a vampire mansion-inspired headpiece was definitely a choice. The piece, which American media reports referred to as “Vampire Castle,” is meant to show the rapper-actor as a man from Transylvania. We’re not sure, however, if Count Drac would be proud.
Kanye West and Bianca Censori

Look who forgot her underwear! Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori’s mismatched ensembles was the least of everyone’s worry at the red carpet, as the latter went all but nude at the Grammys. Known for her daring barely-there outfits, Censori was true to form when she arrived in a sheer nude gossamer fabric that left very little to the imagination. West proudly displayed his arm candy, but did not bother to dress up to the occasion himself.
Julia Fox

Julia Fox was one-part soccer mom, one-part boxer-in-training as she donned an oversized leather jacket, see-through top, thong, wig cap, and latex yellow gloves on the red carpet. The look was meant to be a display of Julia’s wild personality, although the ensemble bordered on confusion.
Norah Jones

At a glance, Norah Jones’ outfit was reminiscent of Nessarose from the “Wicked” adaptation with her curly hairstyle and knee-high dress. The baffling mismatch of lace, beaded trim, sequins, and different patterns felt like a do-it-yourself dress gone wrong. The addition of a red oversized belt, angel wings bangle, fishnet stockings, and pointed heels brought more confusion to the look — with no element that brought it together.
